Our Story
We believe movement is better when it’s shared, and connection is what turns a class or a meet into a community.
Meet the Founder
Hi, I’m Joanna! I started Her Pace and Space after graduating Sacramento State during a time when I was trying to figure out how to build a life that felt good outside of work.
I started running on my own during a time when I was figuring out life after college and trying to build a routine that felt good for me. I tried joining run clubs, but I always felt like I was at the back, not really connected, just kind of there. I loved the idea of community and wellness spaces, but I never fully felt like I belonged in them.
At the same time, I started getting into Pilates and movement as a way to take care of myself mentally and physically, but what I was really craving wasn’t just fitness, it was people, connection, and something consistent to be part of.
So I created what I couldn’t find.
What started with small Pilates classes and running together has grown into Her Pace and Space. A community where women can move, show up as they are, and actually feel included. I’m so grateful for every person who has shown up and helped shape this into what it is now.
My hope is simple: that this feels like the space I needed when I was starting my own wellness journey.
